University of Luzon Drum and Bugle Corps Brings Music and Community Spirit to Laguna

Music and community celebration came together through the spirited performance of the University of Luzon Drum and Bugle Corps (ULDBC) during the Feast of San Antonio de Padua festivities in Barangay San Antonio, Biñan City, Laguna.

The two-day celebration was held on June 12–13, 2026, bringing together several performing bands for a lively presentation of music, culture, and community spirit. Representing the University of Luzon, the ULDBC performed a repertoire of 12 musical pieces that showcased the group’s preparation, coordination, and musical skills. Their performance in the harapan also featured their newly created Hotdog Medley, adding a fresh and engaging piece to their performance.

Under the direction of Band Master Jesus Mirador, the ULDBC demonstrated discipline, teamwork, and dedication throughout the performance. Their participation also gave the group an opportunity to apply their skills in a public setting while sharing music with a wider community.

Music and cultural activities provide meaningful learning experiences beyond the classroom. The development of students’ skills through performance and cultural engagement advances SDG 4: Quality Education by supporting holistic learning, practical skills, and personal development. Community performances also contribute to SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities by helping preserve cultural heritage and strengthening community identity through shared celebrations.

The UL Drum and Bugle Corps continues to carry the Luzonian spirit through music, bringing talent, discipline, and community connection wherever it performs.
